This game has been prototyped, tested, and refined over the last two years. I built this online version to playtest it properly and find the right balance. We aimed to squeeze the most fun out of the mechanics, and I think we've accomplished it. Taipan is genuinely fun to play, and addicting when it clicks.

Once you know the rules (try the tutorial), the mechanics are fairly simple, but they weave together into a web of consequential choices that can accelerate or hobble the build-out of your domain. Ship upgrades and attributes add a real layer of personalization, so no two games play the same. And because you can lean into trading or piracy, there are several viable paths to victory. Steal a rival's ship, raid their islands, trade with friendlier captains, or brave enemy waters for a big-money delivery. Taipan is an action-packed race to the finish.

I'd genuinely appreciate your honest feedback. If you love it, tell me why. If you hate it, definitely tell me why. And if this game ever gains traction, I plan to publish a physical copy. If that's something you'd want, let me know.
